You know how much trouble it would be if the polar ice caps of earth melted. Let me enlighten you.
First of all it would be hell for all the people related to geography. See, the would have to learn all the new data about the height of the mountains, the depth of the sea etc. Now that would be bad.
Also, every port in the world would be probably underwater. There goes all the awsome yachts and speedboats and the beaches... Pretty damn wet for all the people living near the coastal area also.
Like thats not enough, "Waterworld" would not be considered a science fiction movie but a documentary.
All this would involve a lot of problems. I would hate if this should ever happen, but hey, like I can do much about it...
Later.

Me master Fu comes from Antarctica where me sees no melty welty ice cappy. Where on this side of the earth you man getting your data thingie from?
I seem to recall reading that if the polar ice caps melted completely, water levels would rise approximately 60 feet around the world. Yeah, it would suck for people living on the coast.
But up here in the Mile High City, we'd still be high and dry (except when we're snowboarding). :)

Stop by and say hello
hmm, I had a physics professor tell me his ideas on this before....he compared it to ice in a glass of water. the mass of the ice already displaced the volume of water, so when it melts, the water level will not rise...try it for yourself, measure a glass of ice water, let it melt, and see if it rises...
